As its name implies ISBRA is an international organization devoted to promoting excellence in biomedical research on alcoholism. The Society is governed by a Board of Directors and has its Central Office in Denver, Colorado, USA.
The Society provides Travel Fellowships to young scientists to enable them to present their research findings at ISBRA Congresses.
Research Awards are made for outstanding contributions to biomedical research on alcoholism.
The Society also sponsors a scientific journal in conjunction with the Research Society on Alcohol: Alcohol: Clinical and Experimental Research (ACER).
